Basketball Recap: Khiya Rameau's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sandusky over Columbian

Sandusky was the 61-43 winner over Columbian when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sandusky Blue Streaks fell 55-44 to the Columbian Tornadoes on Saturday.

Sandusky lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Khiya Rameau, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Rameau is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ra'Kiya Collier, who went 6 of 14 en route to 13 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Sandusky has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Columbian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandusky will welcome Mansfield Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Columbian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Huron at 7:00 p.m.
