Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Comes Up Short

If Carrollton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Alexander on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Coweta Indians on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

Carrollton may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 20 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Carrollton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avani Poolman had 11 digs and two assists.

Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 14-17. As for East Coweta, their victory ended a five-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-17.

Coincidentally, Carrollton and East Coweta will both be playing Douglas County the next time they take the court. The Trojans will head out to face the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
