Softball Recap: Sweet Water Takes a Loss

Sweet Water was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Excel Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-0 defeat back in March.

Sweet Water's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Excel, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sweet Water will square off against Marengo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Excel, they will take on Hillcrest at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
