Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whittier). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Norwalk Lancers a 12-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cardinals as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Whittier's victory bumped their record up to 2-14. As for Norwalk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11-1.

Looking ahead, Whittier will head out to square off against La Serna at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norwalk, they will welcome Firebaugh at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
