Volleyball Recap: Wes-Del Warriors vs. Southern Wells Raiders
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wes-Del can now relate to. They came up short against the Southern Wells Raiders on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Taylor Freeman paced Wes-Del's offense, picking up 12 kills. Freeman got some help from Natalie Linder and her 28 assists. Lillian Byrd controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Sydney Alstoft was a one-woman wrecking crew For Southern Wells. as she had seven digs and two aces. Alstoft has been hot, having also posted 23 or more assists the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jailyn Chase, who had eight digs and two aces.
Wes-Del's loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Southern Wells, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-14.
Wes-Del does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southern Wells, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Daleville on the 18th.
