Soccer Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Comes Up Short

If St. Benedict at Auburndale was riding high fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Memphis Home Education Association last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell 4-2 to the Briarcrest Christian Saints on Tuesday. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but St. Benedict at Auburndale couldn't quite close it out.

Gabe Springer wasn't going to let Briarcrest Christian walk away unscathed as he scored both of St. Benedict at Auburndale's goals, bringing his season total up to 11 goals.

St. Benedict at Auburndale's loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for Briarcrest Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Benedict at Auburndale will take on Christian Brothers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Briarcrest Christian, they will face off against Memphis University School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
