It was a good run, but Center Point-Urbana unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Benton Bobcats. The Stormin' Pointers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Center Point-Urbana's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Benton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Benton beat Center Point-Urbana by a score of 8-0 later that day.
