Baseball Recap: Shenango Find Success

Shenango's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Sunday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Sidwell Friends Quakers.

Joey Campoli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Shenango's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trey Ross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another was Sam Patton, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Shenango now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sidwell Friends, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Shenango wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 20-0 win against Aliquippa on the 24th. As for Sidwell Friends, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Calhoun Academy on the 24th.
