Football Game Preview: Sunrise Mountain Mustangs vs. Yuma Catholic Shamrocks

Sunrise Mountain is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to face off against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sunrise Mountain took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 27-24 victory over Coconino.

Sunrise Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Russell led the charge by rushing for 57 yards and one score. Tanner Austin also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.

Yuma Catholic played against Fairfax on Friday and won via forfeit.

Sunrise Mountain's record is now 2-3. As for Yuma Catholic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
