Basketball Recap: Guerin Catholic Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lillian Behrle and Ava Bills

Guerin Catholic lost against Roncalli back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles lost 61-40 to the Roncalli Royals. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Guerin Catholic had strong showings from Ava Bills, who went 5 for 11 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds, and Lillian Behrle, who posted nine points and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roncalli to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sara Rosko, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Brennah Cerny, who had seven points along with nine assists and four steals.

Guerin Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Roncalli, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Guerin Catholic has already played their next contest (against Sheridan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Roncalli will head out on the road to face off against Franklin Community at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roncalli is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
