Basketball Recap: Estill County Comes Up Short

Estill County managed to slip by Landrum the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Estill County Engineers took a blow against the Landrum Cardinals on Thursday, falling 81-53. The Engineers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Landrum to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Atkins, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 14 points and four blocks. Benett Edwards was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Estill County's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Landrum, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Estill County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-59 defeat against Pineville on the 20th. As for Landrum, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 78-44 loss against Briarwood Christian on the 20th.
