Football Game Preview: Dunbar Wildcats vs. Venus Bulldogs

The Dunbar Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Venus Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dunbar challenged Benbrook on Friday. The Wildcats fell 28-22 to the Bobcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Dunbar might have lost, but man, Marcus McDade was a machine: he rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 88 yards and one TD on only seven passes. Kamron Lloyd helped out on the ground, rushing for 89 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Meanwhile, Venus took a blow against Hillsboro on Friday, falling 56-8.

Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Venus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Dunbar against Venus in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 53-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
