It was a good run, but Victory Christian Center unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Davidson Day Patriots by a score of 49-47. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kings of the 53-41 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2019.

Several Kings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlos Marshall, who went 8 of 13 en route to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Marshall a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abubakar Cham, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points.

Victory Christian Center's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Davidson Day, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-12.

Victory Christian Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-52 win against Lake Norman Christian on the 24th. As for Davidson Day, they will square off against Socrates Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Socrates Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.8 points per game this season.
