Softball Recap: Nettleton Wins Going Away Against Hamilton

Nettleton never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Hamilton Lions as the Nettleton Tigers made off with a 10-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Kennice Finnie made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Savannah Harlow was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Bailey Payne, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Nettleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Nettleton now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Nettleton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hamilton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
