Softball Recap: Ysleta Victorious

Ysleta's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Sweetwater Mustangs.

Ivana Zuniga was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cienna Hernandez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Ysleta lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2025.

Ysleta's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Sweetwater, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Ysleta will take on Frenship Memorial at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sweetwater, they will challenge Sundown at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
