Softball Recap: O'Fallon Triumphs

O'Fallon let Roxana stack five runs on them in the fifth inning on Monday but luckily O'Fallon prevailed anyway. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Shells. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 1st.

The team relied heavily on Lilli Coleman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Klino, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

O'Fallon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

O'Fallon's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Roxana, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

O'Fallon has already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against East St. Louis on the 7th. As for Roxana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 23-7 loss against Freeburg on the 6th.
