Volleyball Recap: Volcano Vista Starts Season with Victory at Home

Volcano Vista gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Eldorado Golden Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Hawks not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Volcano Vista walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-13, 25-20.

Leading Volcano Vista to victory were Ava Wrolstad and Allison Hinchman. Wrolstad had seven digs and two aces, while Hinchman had five assists and four aces. Wrolstad has been hot, having also posted 20 or more assists the last six times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Volcano Vista was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Coming up, Volcano Vista will face off against Sandia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eldorado, they have already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Rio Grande on the 21st.
