Basketball Game Preview: Borah Lions vs. Centennial Patriots

The Borah Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Centennial Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Saturday, Borah came up short against Rocky Mountain and fell 54-43.

Meanwhile, Centennial came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Mavericks 83-53. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 28 points or more this season.

Centennial's win came from a few key players Borah will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chase Tibbets, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Eddins, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.

Centennial smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Borah's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Centennial, their record now sits at 7-2.

Borah opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-50 loss to Centennial. Can Borah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
