The Solvay Bearcats will head out to  face off against the Skaneateles Lakers  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Solvay has given up an average of 26.2  points per game this season, but Thursday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose  42-15, which was the final score in Solvay's tilt against Westhill on Friday.
 Solvay's  defeat came about despite a quality game from  Mekhi Sampson, who rushed for 106 yards.
Meanwhile, Skaneateles might've scored the first points on Saturday, but it was Cazenovia who claimed the real prize. Skaneateles was just a  hair shy of victory  and fell  23-22 to Cazenovia. While losing is never fun, Skaneateles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Cazenovia is ranked 90th).
 Solvay will need to focus on slowing down  Hugh Carroll, one of several Skaneateles players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 36 yards and one  touchdown, and also threw for 129 yards  on eight of 13 attempts.  Reid Danforth also helped out with an impressive 94  receiving yards.
 This is the second loss in a row for Skaneateles and  nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Solvay, their record now sits at an identical 3-3.
 Solvay lost to Skaneateles on the road  by a decisive  35-16 margin  in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Bearcats,  Torin Bennett (who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of  TDs, and also threw for 141 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
