West Anchorage faced Barrow in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whalers. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While West Anchorage was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-22.

West Anchorage's loss dropped their record down to 8-21-2. As for Barrow, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-8-2 record this season.

West Anchorage has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against South Anchorage on the 7th. Barrow does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
