Baseball Recap: Brashier Middle College Charter Has No Trouble Against High Point Academy

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Brashier Middle College Charter brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on the High Point Academy Grizzlies with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bengal in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won eight in a row.

Maxwell Cianfarano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Brashier Middle College Charter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Colten West was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Griffin DeLong, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Brashier Middle College Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Brashier Middle College Charter's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for High Point Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brashier Middle College Charter will challenge Carolina Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carolina Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something Brashier Middle College Charter will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for High Point Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty on April 15.
