Basketball Game Preview: Doniphan Dons vs. Rector Cougars

The Doniphan Dons will take on the Rector Cougars in a tournament on Monday. Doniphan will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Doniphan's tournament run continued when they took on Greenville on Saturday. The Dons blew past the Bears, posting a 72-24 win. Fans of the Dons have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Rector took on Neelyville on Saturday. The Cougars came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 50-39.

Doniphan better focus on containing Rylee Wilburn and Cearra Machon as the pair were huge in Rector's win. Wilburn dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Machon posted 11 points along with seven boards and three steals. Wilburn's evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Vangilder, who had nine points.

Rector smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Doniphan's record now sits at 8-0. As for Rector, their record is now 8-4.
