Baseball Recap: Highland Hawks vs. Mesa Jackrabbits
Highland barely beat Mesa the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks blew past the Jackrabbits 15-2 on Friday. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Tyson Cutchen looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Gavin Bair was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that he has launched this season. Gage Tarwater was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Highland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.
