Softball Game Preview: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Faith Christian Lions

Buckingham Charter is a perfect 10-0 against Faith Christian since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Buckingham Charter will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Buckingham Charter beat Foresthill 5-1.

Tamia Cendejas was excellent, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian might've scored the first runs last Thursday, but it was Non Varsity Opponent who claimed the real prize. The Lions came up short against Non Varsity Opponent, falling 15-4. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bella Abken was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Buckingham Charter's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Faith Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Buckingham Charter has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .586. However, it's not like Faith Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .536. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Buckingham Charter took their victory against Faith Christian when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
