Soccer Game Preview: Moravian Academy vs. Southern Lehigh

The Moravian Academy Lions will square off against the Southern Lehigh Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Southern Lehigh will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Moravian Academy extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over Salisbury Township. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Moravian Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Salisbury Township are ranked 500th).

Moravian Academy hit Salisbury Township with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Trevor King (2), Apollo Fernandez (2), Enzo Reis, and Eric Gainforcaro.

Meanwhile, Southern Lehigh won against Jim Thorpe on Saturday with six goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Tuesday. The Spartans put the hurt on Salisbury Township with a sharp 6-1 win. The victory continues a trend for Southern Lehigh in their matchups with Salisbury Township: they've now won five in a row.

Moravian Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-4-1. As for Southern Lehigh, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Moravian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Southern Lehigh in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
