Volleyball Recap: Greensboro Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Greensboro proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Calvary Day School Cougars, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Greensboro might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Calvary Day School scored at least 13 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-20, 25-18, 17-25, 15-13.

Reagan Reece and Katheryn Tate certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Reece had 17 digs and three aces, while Tate had 33 digs and two aces. Reece has been hot recently, having also posted 16 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Greensboro's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. As for Calvary Day School, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Coming up, Greensboro will take on Greensboro Day School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Calvary Day School, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Winston Salem Christian on the 3rd.
