Basketball Recap: Buffalo's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Buffalo had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Westwood Panthers by a score of 48-37 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-32 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Westwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lyla Huddleston went 7 for 12 en route to 20 points along with seven boards and five steals. That was a full 54.1% of Westwood's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Paxtyn Coker was another key player, putting up ten points.

Buffalo's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 18-11. As for Westwood, they dropped their record down to 5-17 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Buffalo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-22 victory against Groesbeck on the 28th. Westwood has also already played their next game, a 47-44 win against Elkhart on the 28th.
