Football Recap: Madison Mavericks vs. Clark Cougars
Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 24-17 to the Clark Cougars. The contest was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but the Mavericks couldn't quite close it out.
Clark can attribute much of their success to Xavier Canavis, who rushed for 130 yards.
Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Clark, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will host Johnson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Johnson is coming into the game with three straight victories on the road, so Madison will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Clark, they will be playing at home against Brandeis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
