Softball Recap: Greencastle Falls Short of Monrovia in the Playoffs

Greencastle and Monrovia squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Greencastle had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-3. The loss continues a trend for the Tiger Cubs in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Ali Hassler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Haley Iseman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Greencastle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Monrovia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-9.

As of now, neither Greencastle nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
