Mountain View Academy won the last time they faced East Palo Alto Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mountain View Academy Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs, sneaking past 56-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Mountain View Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Penaflorida, who went 8 of 18 en route to 17 points and five boards. Daniel Malo was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six assists and four steals.

East Palo Alto Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dreshon Barker-Goode, who posted 19 points. The matchup was Barker-Goode's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Angel Alvarado also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Mountain View Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Mountain View Academy will head out on the road to face off against Kehillah at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kehillah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Mountain View Academy likes a good challenge. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they will be playing at home against Apostles Lutheran at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
