Baseball Recap: Whiteland Takes a Loss

Whiteland and Franklin Community pushed the score to 16-14 the last time they played Franklin Community, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Warriors fell just short of the Grizzly Cubs by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Whiteland saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maalik Perkins, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Whiteland has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Franklin Community, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

While Whiteland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
