Football Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 47-19 loss at the hands of the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for Waterbury Career Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 30.2 points per game.

Monie Eason went supernova, rushing for 148 yards and one score while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also catching one touchdown. Another pass catcher making a difference was Joshua Myers, who picked up 131 receiving yards and one TD.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Kennedy will square off against Derby at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will be up against the Red Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they will take on Naugatuck at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
