Basketball Game Preview: Vista PEAK Prep Bison vs. ThunderRidge Grizzlies

The Vista PEAK Prep Bison will head out on the road to take on the ThunderRidge Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Vista PEAK Prep came up short against Highlands Ranch and fell 66-54. While the Bison didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 20-15 in the first quarter.

Vista PEAK Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Knakai Starks, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards, and Amaya Nance, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds. That's the most rebounds Nance has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Amirah Pena, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask ThunderRidge). They blew past Pueblo Central 60-2 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Grizzlies as they're now sitting on three straight.

ThunderRidge is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points per game. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
