Soccer Recap: South Stanly Comes Up Short

South Stanly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 13-0 to the Union Academy Cardinals. While losing is never fun, South Stanly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 544th, while Union Academy are ranked 140th).

South Stanly's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Union Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. South Stanly is set to take on their familiar foe Gray Stone Day at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Union Academy will square off against rival Mount Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
