Basketball Game Preview: Glendora Tartans vs. Bonita Bearcats

The Glendora Tartans will challenge the Bonita Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendora is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.

Glendora is headed into Tuesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They fell 52-41 to Claremont on Thursday.

Glendora's loss came about despite a quality game from Ronnie Herrmann, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Herrmann's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zylee Espinoza, who posted two points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Bonita had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 44-28. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Mustangs are ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glendora's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Bonita, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Glendora came up short against Bonita when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 56-51. Thankfully for Glendora, Naomi Acuna (who went 7 of 10 on her way to 22 points and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
