Even though the Plainfield Cardinals have not done well against the Summit Hilltoppers recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Plainfield skirted past Summit 50-47. For Plainfield, this counts as revenge for the 67-35 loss Summit walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2022.
Plainfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Imani Mullings led the charge by scoring eight points.
Plainfield's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Summit, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Plainfield will be home for the holidays to greet Dayton on Saturday. Summit will take on Union Catholic in a holiday battle at TBD on Saturday at.
