Monmouth United made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Illini West, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Storm fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The Red Storm's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Monmouth United got a good showing from Aiden Martin, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chance Stewart was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Stockdale, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
