Softball Recap: Samson Takes a Loss

Samson easily dispatched Geneva County on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Tigers fell just short of the Cottonwood Bears by a score of 15-13 on Monday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Holly Warren and Hattie Faulk stepped up to the plate in a big way. Warren went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple, while Faulk went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Faulk has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Glisson, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Samson's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Cottonwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-12.

As of now, neither Samson nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
