Basketball Game Preview: Saks Wildcats vs. Weaver Bearcats

Saks and Weaver are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Saks Wildcats take on the Weaver Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Saks is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Randolph County by a score of 62-49. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Weaver entered their tilt with Wellborn on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 77-67 win over the Panthers.

Weaver has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Saks, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.

Saks came up short against Weaver in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 62-50. Can Saks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
