Basketball Preview: Northeast Bradford Panthers vs. Cowanesque Valley Indians
Northeast Bradford is 10-0 against the Indians since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Northeast Bradford Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Cowanesque Valley Indians at 7:30 p.m. Northeast Bradford will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Northeast Bradford sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Redskins. Given Northeast Bradford's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Redskins are ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Cowanesque Valley has not done well against the Warriors recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Cowanesque Valley walked away with a 42-32 victory over the Warriors. The victory was just what Cowanesque Valley needed coming off of a 72-46 loss in their prior contest.
Northeast Bradford pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Cowanesque Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Northeast Bradford didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Indians in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northeast Bradford since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
