Catawba Ridge is a perfect 3-0 against Clover since April of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Copperheads will challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Catawba Ridge will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Catawba Ridge's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Rock Hill.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Clover ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Nation Ford 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 1st.
Carson Politsch made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other pitching news, Justin Cox looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Aiden Smith was excellent, going 3-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Thomas Hardwick was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Clover now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Catawba Ridge, their record now sits at 14-9.
Catawba Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Clover in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Copperheads since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
