Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Menlo-Atherton

Menlo-Atherton won against Menlo School on Saturday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Menlo-Atherton Bears didn't even let the Menlo School Knights on the board, marking the Menlo-Atherton Bears' second-straight 4-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Wes Peterson looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, David Lopez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Menlo-Atherton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Menlo School struck out nine times.

Menlo-Atherton's record now sits at 3-1. As for Menlo School, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Menlo-Atherton will be playing at home against Archbishop Riordan at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Menlo School, they have already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Menlo-Atherton on the 1st.
