Football Game Preview: Fresno Warriors vs. Hoover Patriots

The Fresno Warriors will head out to face off against the Hoover Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fresno hasn't scored more than 13 points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Fresno is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against McLane on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 892nd, while the Highlanders are ranked 331st).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-21, which was the final score in Hoover's tilt against Sanger West on Friday.

Fresno will have to contain Cam Mobley as he made an impact in Hoover's last game. He threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score.

Fresno's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hoover, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Fresno was taken down by Hoover 42-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
