Atholton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the River Hill Hawks with a sharp 27-7 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lawson Mungo had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Ian Pope Jr was in the mix as well, providing Atholton with a touchdowns.

Atholton wouldn't let River Hill keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Delbert Cowsette, Ja'Varr Stewart, and Brody Pope picked up one apiece. Cowsette didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble, made nine total tackles, and defended a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Atholton will venture away from home to take on Long Reach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for River Hill, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Howard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
