Basketball Recap: Sheyenne Franks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Follett over Fort Elliott

After flying high against Darrouzett last Friday, Follett came back down to earth. The Follett Panthers fell just short of the Fort Elliott Cougars by a score of 45-42 on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-30 on January 11th.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sheyenne Franks, who posted nine points along with five boards and three steals. Sadie Hogge was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Even though they lost, Follett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Follett's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-16. As for Fort Elliott, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Follett will welcome Miami at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Elliott, they will host Booker at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Elliott is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
