Independence faced Green Hill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hawks. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Independence got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lanie Yoon out in front who had five digs and two aces.
Yoon wasn't the only good server: Independence was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matchups.
Independence's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Green Hill, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.
Coming up, Independence will challenge Franklin Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Green Hill, they will head out on the road to take on Station Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
