Softball Recap: Taylor Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Taylor was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against the Carlson Marauders, falling 17-1. If the Griffins were looking for revenge after losing 16-5 to the Marauders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Taylor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Smolenski ?28, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases were Smolenski ?28's first of the season.

Taylor now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Carlson, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Taylor will venture away from home to take on Inter-City Baptist at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.75 runs per game on average), something the Griffins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carlson, they will face off against Walled Lake Western at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
