Softball Recap: Bonneville Takes a Loss

Bonneville came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Viewmont Vikings by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lakers have suffered against the Vikings since March 13, 2015.

Peyton Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Ellee Summers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Madilynn DeGroot was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bonneville has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Viewmont, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
