Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Memorial's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Memorial posted their closest win since February 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 victory over the Western Reserve Blue Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-63 back in December of 2024.

Memorial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jared Colon out in front who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Colon's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christos Davis, who posted ten points and four steals.

Memorial has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Western Reserve, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

When Memorial and Western Reserve next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Memorial will try to stop Lowellville's three-game winning streak when the meet at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Memorial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69 points per game this season. Similarly, Western Reserve will challenge McDonald and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
