Softball Recap: Eisenhower Drops Highest Score of Season Against Davis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eisenhower). They blew past the Davis Pirates 29-10 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Cadets in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Eisenhower got a massive performance out of Zabella Hickenbottom, who fired off three triples, five runs, and seven RBI while going 4-for-5. Those five runs gave Hickenbottom a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Salmanca, who went 5-for-6 with six RBI, three doubles, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eisenhower kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Eisenhower's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Davis, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Looking ahead, Eisenhower will be playing in front of their home fans against Wenatchee at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cadets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Davis, they will challenge Moses Lake at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
